The VoiceMaster Launches the Philippines’ First Voice Acting Book in the Manila International Book Fair 2016
Book lovers, unite!
The 37th Manila International Book Fair will take place at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City from September 14-18, 2016. It is the country’s largest and longest-running book expo, with thousands of titles ranging from fiction to textbooks, graphic novels, and educational materials available for viewing and purchase at discounted prices.
MIBF is a haven for book lovers because it provides access to such a diverse range of reading materials, as well as an opportunity for exposure and idea exchange between players in the publishing and academic industries. MIBF is an excellent venue for authors to launch new titles… and the VoiceMaster is one of them this year.
Pocholo has made his mark in the voice acting industry not only through his thousands of commercials, anime, foreign TV shows, children’s programs, video games, and audiobooks, but also through his school, the Philippine Center for Voice Acting. Since 2005, the country’s first and only Voice Acting School, has graduated over 1,000 students, many of whom have established careers as voice artists, broadcasters, hosts, and even public speakers.
“Gusto Kong Maging Voice Talent” is a book for all aspiring voice artists interested in developing a successful voice acting career. Pocholo has laid out a comprehensive yet simple-to-follow roadmap in this book so that anyone can take the first step toward realizing their dream in the world of voice. This road map outlines the following: • The opportunities available in the voice acting world • How to locate the best voice acting workshop
- Instruments and techniques for increasing your vocal variety and power
- Commercials, animation, and even tongue twister scripts to help you hone your voice acting skills
- Techniques for identifying your niche and building your brand
- PLUS: how to set up your own home recording studio!
For over a decade, Pocholo’s voice acting school has assisted thousands of students in developing not only their voice acting abilities but also their confidence in discovering and pursuing their life passion.
Pocholo decided to write a book about voice acting in response to the high demand for his voice acting workshops. “There have been countless times when I have been asked if our school has a branch in the provinces, if we can take more than 20 students per batch, or if we can do one more batch for the year. So, while we may not be able to reach as many people as we want with our voice acting workshop, this book will be able to do so, as it will be available in bookstores all over the Philippines. It’s our very own workshop-in-a-bottle!” As stated by the VoiceMaster.
Pocholo launches “Gusto Kong Maging Voice Talent” at the Manila International Book Fair to commemorate his 20 years in the voice acting industry. The book is being sold at a discounted introductory price of Php 100 before being released at full retail price in leading bookstores nationwide. He will also have a book launch and signing on September 17 from 1-3 pm at the Psicom booth 446-448 during the book fair.
Pocholo is looking forward to developing more passionate voice artists through his book, as part of his vision of making the Philippines the center of voiceover excellence in Asia. “As I always say, the voice is our most powerful instrument. It is the only instrument that can start a war or say ‘I love you.’ And in voice acting, there are limitless opportunities waiting for you to discover, develop and maximize your voice.”
